are coming to The Scottish Festival in July!!!

Knacker’s Yard perform the classic English anti-recruiting song “Join the British Army” live at The Irish Times Pub, March 28th 2018.

The great folks from the Cannery Brewing Company will, once again, be serving their delicious and refreshing beverages at the festival. Come and enjoy a cold local beer, watch the dancing, piping and drumming, heavy events action, shop at our vendor’s tents and food trucks. Then stay to listen to the Celtic and English musical group, Knacker’s Yard!!!

The Penticton Scottish Festival, Saturday July 7 2018 is a one day event that combines a traditional Scottish Highland Games of musical and athletic competition with a Celtic cultural expo, entertainment and family fun.

Competitive events such as Highland Dancing, Solo Bagpiping and Drumming, and Heavy Events (stone put, hammer throw, sheath toss, caber toss) all begin at 9 am and this year we feature 4 pipe bands for the official opening at 12:30. Pipe bands compete & perform beginning at 2:30 pm. All competitive events continue throughout the day until 4 pm, for the awards ceremony and another massed pipe band.

Then at the same location’s entertainment stage there is a Celtic Ceilidh (party in the park) with Celtic bands such as Gord McLaren and the McClan, and our headliners this year “Knacker’s Yard” performing until 7:30 pm.

Central Okanagan Dog Agility Club compete/perform shows through the day, as do the Society of Creative Anachronism (knights in armour), Blakey School of Irish Dance, Naramata Scottish Country Dancers and more. Whiskey Tasting Classes are held through the afternoon. Our on site food vendors and beverage area will keep you well fed and hydrated, and the Kids Zone from 11-3 will keep the wee ones entertained with face painting, flag making crafts, bouncy castle, the Haggis Hurl, and the Kids Caber Toss.

The Penticton Scottish Festival is held on the first Saturday in July annually at King’s Park, 550 Eckhardt Ave in Penticton BC on 4 soccer fields outdoors, so dress for the weather and bring a lawn chair as grandstand seating is limited. Tickets are available at the gates: $10-Adults 16 years +, $5-Children 5-15, Preschoolers-Free.

Please feel free to call with questions & comments.
